The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms holds a legendary place in dive watch history. Designed in the mid-1950s for French Navy combat swimmers, it became one of the earliest and most iconic dive watches. This particular 34mm example stands out not only for its compact size but for its remarkable condition—so much so that it was exhibited by Blancpain at a Fifty Fathoms event in Paris in 2010.
The watch features an unpolished case, a stunning black gloss dial with an applied Blancpain logo, and a beautifully scripted “Fifty Fathoms” inscription. The original lume remains intact, along with a pristine bakelite bezel insert. Powered by an automatic Rayville/Blancpain 1361 movement, this piece is a fantastic addition to any dive watch collection.
It comes on a period-correct rubber Nautic strap, reminiscent of how these watches were originally delivered.
